Garden Maintenance
       GARDEN MAINTENANCE is the staple of what my business is all about. If you would like me to look after your garden, here is a list of some of the services I offer at the hourly rate of £20 per hour. You can either request particular services (see below) or leave it me and just tell me how many hours a week, fortnight (or whatever you wish) you would like me to come. As a general rule of thumb, I will come and assess your garden, and give you an estimate on the amount of time it will take me to do the basics. Then it's up to you. To make me unique among maintenance gardeners, I offer a considerable number of services FREE OF CHARGE for regular clients. See below for details:        
 
  • Grass cutting, scarifying, aerating, edging and repair of lawns - I have an aerator / scarifier which does the job more efficiently and quickly than a traditional rake or fork. And unlike certain green thumbed operatives, I DON'T leave the plugs of earth on the lawn for you to remove yourself! This comes free with regular maintenance.
    Weeding - of course!
  • Repair of lawn patches (with a re-seed) - free with regular maintenance.
  • Spraying of weed-killer on patio or border weeds - free with regular maintenance
  • Lawn weed-killer applied to lawns - free with regular maintenance
  • Hedge cutting and shrub or small tree pruning, small tree lopping (contact me for a quotation, or have it done free with regular maintenance).
  • One-off tidy ups - especially popular during the winter months.
  • Dead-heading.
  • Bulb, shrub or small tree planting.
  • General garden maintenance.
NOTE: "regular maintenance" is defined as at least once a month   
 

Why Choose Me?

I have considerable knowledge of plants and their requirements and can tell a tall weed from an herbaceous perennial. Depending on your requirements, I can do the very basics and leave your garden looking neat and tidy, saving you the hassle, or I can take an interest in the design, making suggestions as to the plant requirements or the aesthetics.  I can sometimes source garden items for you. I also have some experience and knowledge of growing fruit and vegetables. I have all my own tools and can do the work even when you’re out, leaving you with an invoice. And what I don’t know - I can easily find out! Having been a teacher for over 20 years I have proven trustworthiness, and can provide recent references upon request (please see Customer testimonials).
